The diaphragm is a small shallow dome of silicone that a woman places inside her vagina to cover the entrance to the uterus (womb). It prevents pregnancy by stopping sperm from getting into the womb.
When used correctly every time, the diaphragm is 94% effective in preventing pregnancy. With typical use it is 84% effective. For more information about diaphragms, click here.
Diaphragms come in four different sizes, so you need to know your correct size before you can purchase one.
If you are unsure of your size, you can go to a Family Planning Clinic or your local doctor to be fitted for a diaphragm.
