Health Promotion at Family Planning NSW

SHPU_team.jpg

The Health Promotion team aims to improve and maintain the reproductive and sexual health of the NSW community in rural, regional and urban areas.

We have specific expertise with:

  • Young people
  • People with a disability
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Same sex attraction
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD)
  • Women's and men's sexual health

We offer specialised professional education and training to professionals who work with these groups.

Our other health promotion work includes projects, campaigns, creating resources and community education.

We have strong and valuable relationships with government agencies, community groups and non-government agencies and are recognised as leaders in the field of reproductive and sexual health.

We align our practice with the NSW HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infection and Hepatitis C Strategies 2006-2010, and the Implementation Plan for Aboriginal People, 2006-2010.

We are located in Ashfield, Fairfield, Penrith, Newcastle, Dubbo and Wollongong, but are also happy to travel and work in other areas and indeed have a long history of doing so.
